“Fruit Bowl, Book and Newspaper” (1916), Juan Gris

Two podcast episodes I really enjoyed during long walks this week for explaining complicated things to me in simple language.

Both are from Melvyn Bragg’s panel discussion show “In Our Time,” available wherever you get podcasts. One was about how stars die, with three astronomers excitedly explaining supernovas and white dwarfs and dark energy, and one was about the enduring appeal and confusion surrounding William Shakespeare’s sonnets, with one guest, poet Don Paterson, being endearing and funny the whole way through.

Anyway, I enjoyed them and actually retained quite a bit of info a few days later.

(If that’s too wonky for you, I’m also listening to Binchtopia, which is a pair of vocal-fryed Gen-Zers in stream-of-consciousness conversation.)
