Experiments with OpenAI’s GPT-3, catcalls in Manhattan, a new way to incorporate more Björk in your life, and new books + music
A recent Reddit thread about a high school student using OpenAI’s GPT-3 engine to get straight A’s (and make cash by “writing” other students’ papers) inspired me to play around in the sandbox.
It’s fun! For example, I took yesterday’s micro-essay and asked the playground to summarize it for a second-grader.
The restaurant is too loud, the food is nothing special, and it's expensive.
Then turn it into an advertising tagline for said restaurant.
“Not worth your time or money.”
Then turn it into a short story by Raymond Carver
We waited an hour for a table, and when we finally sat down, we were so close to the person at the next table that we could hear their conversation. The menu was confusing and the waitress was unable to answer any of our questions about the food. We ordered a bottle of wine and a few appetizers, but when the food came, it was cold and tasted terrible. We ended up leaving without finishing our meal. I was so angry at my friend for taking us to such a terrible restaurant. The whole experience was a waste of time and money. I'll never understand why people are so obsessed with this place.
