A musical highlight of the week – a week I mostly listened to contemporary classical, midcentury jazz piano, and new indie rock/pop – was the return of Fever Ray with Radical Romantics.

Fever Ray is Karin Dreijer. A lot of people first discovered them in the early aughts as half of the Swedish electronic pair The Knife, but Dreijer also swiftly put out their own work. This new album is probably my favorite thing they’ve done. Sometimes it sounds like a Knife reunion, sometimes it’s dark and creepy, sometimes hot and horny—much of the time it’s all of that banged together to roast for an hour at 350℉.
