American-in-Japan Craig Mod just released Things Become Other Things, a memoir of 10 years spent walking the Kumano Kodō and the Kii Peninsula.
Craig’s a wonderful writer and photographer, a deeply knowledgable Japan hand, and a fastidious bookmaker. (I’ve recommended his pop-up newsletters here previously.) I haven’t met this book yet in person, but I feel secure saying it’s great. His previous book Kissa by Kissa is wonderful.
