Los Angeles: Hotel Figueroa – downtown, light-filled, nice for a daytime meeting. Also love Tower Bar on the strip, Lily’s Bar in Hollywood when it’s not crowded, and The Georgian (bar and room) in Santa Monica.
Nashville: The Hermitage Hotel. Sit at the bar, not the little tables, order the deviled eggs.
Connecticut: The Tap Room at The Griswold Inn in Old Lyme, originally built in 1735 as a schoolhouse.
